Ian Law, Chief Executive Officer Ian Law was appointed CEO of the PBL Media Group in February 2007 after serving as CEO of ACP Magazines from May 2006 to February 2007. Before joining ACP Magazines, Ian was Managing Director and CEO of West Australian Newspapers Holdings Limited, a Perth-based company with a market capitalisation of approximately $2 billion involved in newspaper and magazine publishing, printing, digital services, radio broadcasting and cinemas. Previously, Ian held a number of senior executive positions with Rural Press Limited, including General Manager and Editor-in-Chief of Regional Publishing, General Manager of Special Projects, and General Manager of Agricultural Publishing. He started in the media as a journalist. Ian is a director of various companies including ninemsn Pty Limited and carsales.com.au Limited. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Pat O’Sullivan, Chief Financial Officer Pat O’Sullivan was appointed CFO of the PBL Media Group in February 2007. Prior to that he was COO of PBL, a position he has held since February 2006. Before joining PBL, Pat was the CFO of Optus, a position he held for over three years with responsibility for the company’s financial affairs including corporate finance, taxation, treasury, risk management, procurement and property. Previously, Pat held a number of positions at Goodman Fielder, Burns Philp and Company Limited, and PwC. Pat is currently a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Programme.

Guy Gadney, General Manager Digital Services PBL Media Guy Gadney joined PBL Media in March 2007 as General Manager Digital Services. Prior to this, Guy was Director of Content Production for Telstra BigPond after leading and completing the delivery of the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and Games channels for the launch of FOXTEL Digital. Before joining FOXTEL, Guy was based in London where he produced two of the Guardian websites, ran the broadband and interactive TV team for BBC Worldwide, worked for IPC magazines, developed multiplayer online and Playstation games, and ran his own company producing new media products for major UK and international media brands. Guy has also been on the judging panel of the UK’s BAFTA interactive awards and is currently President of the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA.com.au).

Amanda Laing, General Counsel PBL Media Amanda Laing was appointed General Counsel of PBL Media in October 2006, with responsibility for the legal affairs of ACP Magazines, the Nine Network Australia and PBL Media group subsidiaries. Amanda joined ACP Magazines as Corporate Counsel in 1999. In 2003 she was promoted to the role of General Counsel of ACP Magazines with responsibility for legal matters relating to ACP Magazines group businesses in Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia and the UK. Prior to joining ACP Magazines, Amanda was a Senior Associate with law firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

Joe Pollard, Director of Sales & Marketing PBL Media Joe Pollard began her career over 20 years ago working for J. Walter Thompson Advertising in Sydney, Hong Kong and London as a Media Planner and then a Media Director. Joe worked on accounts including Kelloggs, Unilever, Nestle, DeBeers and the Australian Tourist Commission. From 1996 to 2004, Joe worked for Nike Inc in the United States where she held the position of Global Director of Media, Digital and Content. Joe managed Nike’s media investments on a global basis. In addition Joe ran all of Nike’s digital efforts through nike.com and established their branded content division. In 2004, she transferred to Nike Japan as Marketing Director to manage Brand Strategy. In 2006, Joe joined PBL Media as Sales and Marketing Director, responsible for expanding PBL Media services into integrated marketing solutions.

John Rowsthorne, General Manager Operations PBL Media John Rowsthorne joined PBL Media in 2006 as General Manager Operations and is responsible for identifying, planning and implementing operational efficiencies and revenue opportunities with the profit centre managers across the company’s business units. John has more than 30 years’ experience in the publishing industry from editorial, sales, circulation, marketing, development of digital platforms and the production areas of printing, publishing and distribution. Most recently, he was part of the executive management team for the West Australian Newspapers. John began his career as a journalist and has spent the last 20 years in various senior management roles.
