Adrian MacKenzie, Chairman Adrian MacKenzie is a Partner at CVC Asia Pacific responsible for Australia and New Zealand. Adrian joined CVC’s London office in 1995 and transferred to CVC Asia Pacific in 1999. Previously, he was with J Henry Schroder Wagg & Co. Limited in London and New York and HSBC Investment Bank Limited in London. Adrian holds a degree in Technology and Business Studies from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland.

Ian Law, Chief Executive Officer Ian Law was appointed CEO of the PBL Media Group in February 2007 after serving as CEO of ACP Magazines from May 2006 to February 2007. Before joining ACP Magazines, Ian was Managing Director and CEO of West Australian Newspapers Holdings Limited, a Perth-based company with a market capitalisation of approximately $2 billion involved in newspaper and magazine publishing, printing, digital services, radio broadcasting and cinemas. Previously, Ian held a number of senior executive positions with Rural Press Limited, including General Manager and Editor-in-Chief of Regional Publishing, General Manager of Special Projects, and General Manager of Agricultural Publishing. He started in the media as a journalist. Ian is a director of various companies including ninemsn Pty Limited and carsales.com.au Limited. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

John Alexander, Director John Alexander has been CEO and Managing Director of PBL since June 2004. He joined ACP Magazines as Group Publisher in 1998 and was appointed CEO of that division in March 1999, a position he held until April 2006. In January 2002, he was appointed CEO of PBL’s media businesses which included ACP Magazines and Nine Network—then owned by PBL. Before joining PBL, John was the Editor-in-Chief, Publisher & Editor of The Sydney Morning Herald, and Editor-in-Chief of The Australian Financial Review. John is a director of various companies including Crown Limited, Burswood Limited, Melco PBL Entertainment (Macau) Limited, ninemsn Pty Limited, FOXTEL Management Pty Limited, The Hoyts Corporation Pty Limited, carsales.com.au Limited, The International Federation of the Periodical Press Limited and a council member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Pat O’Sullivan, Chief Financial Officer Pat O’Sullivan was appointed CFO of the PBL Media Group in February 2007. Prior to that he was COO of PBL, a position he has held since February 2006. Before joining PBL, Pat was the CFO of Optus, a position he held for over three years with responsibility for the company’s financial affairs including corporate finance, taxation, treasury, risk management, procurement and property. Previously, Pat held a number of positions at Goodman Fielder, Burns Philp and Company Limited, and PwC. Pat is currently a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Programme.

James Packer, Director James Packer is Executive Chairman of PBL and Consolidated Press Holdings Limited. He was appointed Executive Chairman of PBL in May 1998 after serving as CEO from March 1996 to May 1998. James is also a director of Challenger Financial Services Group Limited, Qantas Airways Limited, Sunland Group Limited, Chairman of SEEK Limited and Co-Chairman of Melco PBL Entertainment (Macau) Limited.

Tim Parker, Director Tim Parker is an Industrial Partner of CVC who joined the company from the AA in 2008. Tim was previously Chief Executive of the AA and Deputy Chairman of Kwik-Fit, both CVC Capital Partners portfolio companies. Tim is a non-executive director of Compass Group plc and previously non-executive director of Boots Group plc. Tim’s former roles include Chief Executive of Clarks, Kenwood Appliances plc and Thorn EMI plc. He was also a non-executive director of Legal & General plc and Kleeneze plc. Tim has an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.

Maarten Ruijs, Director Maarten Ruijs is the chief investment officer of CVC Asia Pacific. Maarten joined CVC Amsterdam in 1991. He is currently a Managing Partner of CVC Capital Partners, and is responsible for all Asia Pacific activities. Maarten, a Dutch citizen, is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a master’s degree in economics from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Holland. |
